17th ALFILM Festival

ALFILM is an annual Arab Film Festival in Berlin, dedicated to bringing Arab culture to the German capital through independent cinema and contemporary film practices. The visual identity and promotional material for the 17th edition were inspired by the festival’s focus on Sudanese cinema, celebrating the diversity of Arab storytelling and the power of film as a medium for cultural dialogue. The Arabic lettering is rooted in African Arabic script traditions – a nod to the Sudanic and Maghrebi calligraphic styles that distinguish the region’s typographic identity. This is complemented by a dynamic, organic graphic pattern that reflects layered narratives and regional perspectives, creating a visual rhythm that mirrors the diversity of the program. Various publications are multilingual in German, English, and Arabic.
