The Arab Film Festival Berlin – ALFILM was initiated in 2009 as an annual event to showcase contemporary Arab culture. We created a bilingual monogram logo constructed of the square Kufi Arabic letter ف (fa), enclosing the Latin kapital f as in “film”. The logo comes alongside an Arabic and Latin word mark. The design was aimed to de-orientalize and modernize the visual appearance of Arab cultural events.
